What's a play-a-long recording and where do I get them ...?


A play-a-long recording is a CD that has accompaniment allowing you to practice your improvisation. The most well known play-a-longs are from Jamey Aebersold. Volume 1 was first published in 1967 since then there have been many more released. You can get all the details and search for a specific song on Jamey Aebersold's site and you can also get them from your local music supplier or for example online stores such as Amazon.com or Sheetmusicplus.com.
